special assembly

On Monday we had a special assembly for the attack in Christchurch. On the day we commemorated the people who died. It was a sad moment for all of us. We made some cards to send down to the mosques and the schools. After we went and planted a kowhai tree and had a sad two minute silence. I feel sad about what happened because it's not normal for something like this to happen in NZ.

swimming

on Thursday we went to the pool. the swimming instructor we had was broncen. we learnt how to enter the pool safely with life jackets on. then had to take one step ford  into the water and fall on your face flat. i was wearing goggles so it wasn't that bad hoping in. it was really cold and i got chills we learnt how to do egg beater and some arm stroke and when it was time to go back to we got our bag's and went back back to school.

using the new talk and type tool

I hope everybody has had a good start to 2019! The students in Te Waka Ako in Waikowhai are learning to use the new talk and type tool in  our Chromebooks. We used it for the Getting To Know You forms which made it really easy to get the words from my mind to the computer. What was hard was that it took a really long time to get the words Spelt it right
